Bachelor Of Ayurvedic Medicine And Surgery Course Details

For the undergraduate education level, the BAMS course is for five and a half years duration. After the completion of the BAMS degree, the student will be awarded the degree of ‘Ayurvedacharya’.

 

The theory BAMS course is carried out in four and a half years, while it is necessary for candidates to complete a year rotatory internship for practical training. 

How many semesters are there in BAMS?

The degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery is divided into three professional theories, which are mentioned in the table below:-

Ayurvedic as well as modern aspects of – general medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics, general surgery, pediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, Panchakarma, Ayurvedic Classical Texts.

Compulsory Rotatory Internship

1-year internship in the clinical departments

BAMS Course Eligibility ?

Aspirants must fulfill certain eligibility conditions to get admission to the BAMS course. Some basic BAMS eligibility criteria are mentioned below.

  • Candidates are required to pass Class 12 or equivalent examination with science subjects ( Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English core in both Class 11 and 12 from a recognized board.
  • He/she should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission
  • An aspirant from the general category needs to secure an aggregate of 50% in their Class 12 Board examination. 
  • Candidates need to have qualified NEET by securing minimum qualifying cutoff percentile to get admission in BAMS course.

 

About Bachelor Of Ayurvedic Medicine And Surgery (BAMS)

Candidates willing to take medicine as a career can opt for a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery after completing Class 12. BAMS is an Aryuvedic traditional healing art in India. BAMS course provides complete knowledge about ‘Ashtanga Ayurveda’ along with scientific advances in modern medicine & extensive practical training.
Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) is the responsible body for admission to Ayurveda education at undergraduate as well as the postgraduate level and practice Ayurvedic medicine in India. Admissions for Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery courses will be granted based on scores obtained in the NEET exam.
BAMS syllabus and curriculum are uniforms across the country. Admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery courses is possible only in Ayurvedic colleges affiliated to the respective universities, permitted by the Department of AYUSH, Union Government of India.
